We are getting off the Island

We wrapped up our Christmas series with a passionate reminder that the King's plan isn't for us to live on The Island of Misfit Toys, but to leave it. We're saved to be sent! Our mission is to share the transformative power of Christ's love with others, proclaiming how He brings purpose to our pain and redemption to our brokenness. As we approach Christmas, let's be inspired by Mary's faithfulness and the shepherds' eagerness to 'go and see'. Our role isn't to fully explain God's mysterious ways, but to boldly proclaim what He's done in our lives.

Daily Devotions

Day 1: Understanding Our Misfit Nature

Devotional: The story of The Island of Misfit Toys serves as a reminder that everyone experiences moments of feeling out of place or unworthy. The sermon reflects on the idea that all of us are misfits in some way. Yet, we are not forgotten. Recognizing our misfit nature is the first step towards understanding our need for Jesus, who embraces and redeems us as we are.

Reflection Questions:

  1. In what ways do you feel like a misfit in your life or faith journey?
  2. How does knowing that Jesus came for the "misfits" change your perspective?

Day 2: The Role of the King and Purpose

Devotional: The biblical analogy of King Moon Racer highlights a king who searches for and values the misfit toys. Similarly, our King, Jesus, actively seeks and brings purpose to those who are often overlooked or misunderstood. His kingship assures us that there's meaning in our experiences and worth in our existence.

Reflection Questions:

  1. How do you see God's purpose being worked out in areas of your life where you feel inadequate?
  2. What does it mean to you personally that Jesus is your king and values you?
