Let the Father hold you!

In this stand-alone message, our Youth Pastor, Seth Austin, invites us to examine the fruit in our lives and its source. Drawing from Galatians 5:16-26 and John 15:1-5, we're reminded that true spiritual fruit comes only from abiding in Christ. The stark contrast between the fruit of the flesh and the fruit of the Spirit challenges us to evaluate our connection to the true vine. Are we striving in our own strength or allowing God's Spirit to work through us? This teaching beautifully illustrates how our attempts to produce fruit on our own lead to frustration and failure. Instead, we're called to childlike faith, trusting our Father's guidance and nurture. As we draw closer to God's heart, we'll naturally bear the fruit He desires, impacting those around us in ways we never could on our own.

Daily Devotions

Day 1: Understanding the Source of Your Fruit

Scripture Reading: John 15:1-5

Devotional: Jesus emphasizes that He is the vine and we are the branches. This teaches us that true spiritual fruit comes from our connection with Him. Trying to produce good fruit on our own leads to failure and frustration. When we abide in Jesus, His life flows through us, naturally producing fruit.

Reflection Questions:

  1. In what ways do you strive to produce fruit on your own?
  2. How can you better abide in Jesus daily?
  3. Reflect on a time when you felt genuinely connected to God. What fruit was evident in your life during that time?
